TAKE 5 Media Night
Media Night will serve as a supplemental for the Take 5 youth substance abuse prevention program. (Stop Act Grant) It will serve as a platform to showcase the drug/alcohol Public Service Announcements students have created and provide community reward and approval.
Triton M.S. : Character Counts
Program educates students to practice the six
pillars of good character each and every day
helping students to make the right choices.
Educates students about the dangers of using
prescription and illegal drugs, tobacco and
alcohol.

SCDFC Grantees
Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church:
Wednesday night program for children and youth of Shelby County and surrounding counties.
This program uses nationally recognized youth curriculum (Orange, from Atlanta Georgia) that discourages abusive behaviors such as drug/alcohol abuse, bullying and sexual health. It encourages developing positive behaviors, lifestyles and self-esteem.
Shelbyville Central Middle School:
Motivational convocation using emphasizing
individuals developing and harnessing their
inner strength and positive mind set to live a
better life free from substance abuse. The
message is a strong say no to drugs, alcohol
and smoking.
ER Counseling: Information and educational
program to serve the senior population at the
Shelby Senior Center to discuss substance
abuse and a very of mental health issues to a
population that might not identify as having a
substance abuse or dependence issue.
Grace House: Grace Grows will address the
growing prevention/educational needs of the
Grace House with respect to adult alcohol
misuse problem in Shelby County by focusing
on identifying, enhancing and implementing
additional support and education. Build skills
through a structured process, activities that
give a healthy alternative to the use of alcohol
and other drugs. Grace House recycles lives
one at a time.
